An Indirect Exhibition Technique for Realization of the Digital Museum

Abstract(in English) Recently, the research on the digital museum such as the multi-modal measurement and modeling, interactive exhibition technique, and exhibition supporting is drawing attention according to progress of the virtual reality techniques. To realize the digital museum, indirect exhibition support techniques such as the high-definition archiving of the tangible cultural assets and the multi-modal archiving of the intangible cultural assets as the basic techniques of the digital contents development are necessary. Therefore, we discuss a system which enables real-time measurement, modeling, and reproduction of the haptic sense when touching to the vanous objects in the real world.
