| 抄録(和) | 近年,機械翻訳技術は急速に進展しているが,完璧な翻訳を行うことは困難であり,翻訳精度評価が不可欠である.翻訳精度評価手法には,人が直接確認する人手評価と,参照訳を用いた自動評価がある.これらの手法では,原文と翻訳結果を比較し,翻訳精度を判定する.我々は,評価における原文の参照が,翻訳精度の判断に悪影響を及ぼす可能性があると考えた.本研究では,翻訳精度評価作業における原文参照の影響について分析を行った.分析の結果,原文を参照する従来の評価手法を用いた場合,実利用において理解可能な文でも精度が低いと判定する,過小評価が発生しやすい傾向がみられた. |
| 抄録(英) | Despite recent advancements in machine translation technology, it is still very difficult to obtain highly accurate translations. Inaccurate translation prevents effective communication between individuals and leads to misunderstandings. To avoid misunderstandings, users communicating via machine translation systems need to confirm the accuracy of their own messages. There are the following two methods of translation accuracy evalua-tion an automatic evaluation and a subjective evaluation. In these methods, accuracy is judged by comparing an original text and its translated text. We think that the reference to original texts affects adequacy of judgment. In this paper, we analyze the influence of reference to original texts in evaluation for translation accuracy. From the result of our analysis, we found that evaluators tend to underestimate accuracy of translated sentences in the existing subjective evaluation. |
