Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) There are methods which show native information by machine translation and non-native information by plain Japanese to support to communicate with foreign residents. However, the research of comparison of these methods has not been studied yet. Therefore, we research the ease of understanding between presentation of native information by machine translation and presentation of non-native information by plain Japanese. As a result, we obtained following findings. (1) Presentation by plain Japanese is easier to understand sentence than by machine translation for foreign residents if they have Japanese proficiency on some level. (2) There is correlation between the accuracy of machine translation sentences and the ease of understanding of machine translation sentences. How-ever, it is not necessarily easier to understand presentation of the native language information by a high-precision machine translation sentence than presentation of the information by a plain Japanese sentence. We think that this is because grammatical error by a machine translation becomes a burden to an understanding of a sentence.
