Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a method to estimate the directions of vertical surfaces in outdoor environments in series of observation images with a fixed camera. This method uses the relation between the brightest time and the direction of a vertical surface. The method estimates the direction of a vertical surface using the time when the incident angle of sunlight is the minimum in observation period. This paper proposes the vertical surface direction estimation method using the long term observation. The method uses the distribution of the results at days in the observation period. This paper shows the experimental results of this method.
