Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this article we experimentally evaluate MOS performance of VoIP application transmitted by IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN system under congested condition with UDP traffic. We examine the performance with auto-matic control mode and with several fixed transmission data rates. Based on the results we evaluate an automatic rate control method by setting a lower limit of transmission data rate to avoid deterioration of MOS due to low rate selection The experimental results show that this method can suppress the packet delay caused by random backoff and rate fallback functions, and improve QoE of the application. Finally we also discuss how to determine the lower limit of the data rate for the method.
