Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently the demand of the mobile communication traffic increases rapidly. In order to deal with this demand, it is required the utilization of frequency bands which have not been used yet. However, sufficiently large bandwidth is difficult to be assigned under 1 GHz which is suitable for wide-area wireless communications. Therefore, the schemes, which gather unused frequency bands fluctuated in time and frequency domains, have been studied Non-Contiguous OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) assigns subcarriers not to inter-fere with signals of other existing systems. This paper proposes Wideband Non-contiguous OFDM (WNC-OFDM) which can use the unused bands of VHF and UHF in a lump, because WNC-OFDM executes Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Inverse FFT (IFFT) to the wide frequency band. This paper discusses problems of WNC-OFDM and suggests solutions for the problems. The paper also shows the results of computer simulations for clarifying the fundamental characteristics of WNC-OFDM.
