Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to realize TV White Space communications, communication distance in the White Space is one of the most important information to establish standard specifications for local area and middle/long range wireless communication systems, to design radio systems, to research and develop fundamental technologies, and to consider regulations. However, there is no result on analysis of the White Space from perspective of the communication distance based on a certain model referring official statistics. In this paper, using the White Space Database that the authors have developed, the White Space in Japan was analyzed in terms of communication distance confirming to the FCC regulations in U.S. As a result, it has been revealed that the communication distance gets shorter as the secondary user transmits from higher from the ground due to interference to the primary user and that the communication distance in the White Space is more than 20km in typical locations of metropolitan area, suburban city, and disaster site where at least 4 channels are there with more than 50km of the communication distance.
