Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, mode division multiplexing (MDM) transmission system in Few-Mode Optical Fiber (FMF) has attracted considerable attention for next generation transmission system. MIMO technology can be applied to MDM systems in order to recover the signal degradation occurred due to mode coupling in the transmission line. However, in this case, FMF with low differential modal group delay (DMD) needs to apply in order to reduce MIMO complexity. In this paper, we report fiber design for low DMD of Two-Mode Optical Fiber (TMF) and the characteristics of fabricated TMF based on its design.
