Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) So far video surveillance systems can only stream video data inside a firewall/NAT which prevents other users on the Internet to reach these videos. In this paper, we propose a new video streaming system using pseudo-streaming to send small size video files through firewall/NAT and allow safety access to the video files In this system, a camera deployed inside a firewall/NAT will record and send video files to a video server placed on the Internet using HTTP, a protocol allowed by every firewall. Then, the server transcodes the recorded video files into several formats and send them to the users according to users' device and network bandwidth. Since this system uses the browser to show videos, not only PC users but also iPhone/iPad users can access those videos. Therefore, even non-IT user can easily use this system.
