Collaborative Activities between Japanese language Teachers Domestic and Overseas in a Virtual Community

Abstract(in English) The main objective of this project is to promote teacher collaboration for professional development of Japanese language teachers Practical reports of their class activities and communication between mentors and participants were recorded in e-portfolio (https : //sns.katovukari.net/) and LMS (https : //lms.katovukari.net/) After 6-month evaluation study, nine participants indicated the following four points (1) participants did not have enough opportunities to communicate with each other although they were highly motivated, (2) in order to promote communication between participants, some kind of rules were needed, (3) young teachers showed hesitation to express their own ideas and opinions to other senior participants, (4) teaching portfolio is useful to record and reflect their own practices
