Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Reducing power consumption of datacenter becomes social challenges since the number of datacenters is rapidly increasing in accordance with the advanced use of IT. IT equipment as servers is primary factor of the datacenter power consumption and its power-saving is especially required In power-saving of IT equipment, in addition to the individual functional efficiency, it is required that reducing power consumption by a new approach using the coordination of internal data processing load status information and power control optimization. However, in order to realize this system, it is necessary to clarify relation between the processing load and power consumption in the first place In this paper, examination of a power consumption prediction method using the CPU built-in performance counter is introduced for the purpose of the optimal power control of computers. Furthermore, increase of power supply efficiency using this technique is described.
