Abstract(in English) We are developing an Optical Layer-2 Switch Network in order to deal with an increase in traffic of future metro-area networks cost-effectively. In this network, packet processing and buffering functions are implemented only in network-edge entities and conventional electrical-L2 switches are eliminated Each WDM channel is divided into a fixed time interval, time slot (TS), and each TS is assigned to the edge entity exclusively, then the edge entity transmits the data according to the assigned TS. The whole TS assignment is changing dynamically in response to traffic fluctuation. In order to realize dynamic control of metro-area networks, we employ the two control cycles; cycle for TS assignment and cycle for data transmission. In this paper, we evaluate a performance of the proposed dynamic TS allocation method through the experiment.
