Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electromagnetic simulators become necessary tools in microwave and antenna engineering these days. They are widely used not only in academia but also in industries. It is very important to know computational cost, which includes computational time and memory consumption, of a problem using commercial simulators. This paper presents the method to evaluate the computational cost of any simulators. Computational time of programming languages, which include FORTRAN, MATLAB, Mathematica and Java, were compared. Computational cost for a commercial electromagnetic simulator based on the finite element method algorithm was investigated. The method to judge the solvable problem was presented.
