Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently as the scale of network expands, the scale of the Operation Support System (OSS) expands correspondingly. Therefore, reducing the operating expenditure for OSS is a critical problem. To solve this problem, system operation using virtualization technology, which reduces the number of physical servers by unifying multiple applications within virtual servers on each physical server, is one of the key solutions. In this paper, in order to maximize the effect of improvement of resource and electricity usage efficiency when we apply our proposed Optimal Placement Method of Virtual Machine constituting OSS to an actual server environment, we detail the allocation method of Virtual Machine on the physical server considering OSS processing frequency and actual resource consumption. Moreover, we evaluate our proposed method by running virtual machines of two types of typical OSS processing model on the actual blade servers, and show that our proposed method achieves 45% reduction of the resource and electricity usage efficiency while guaranteeing the performance requirement of OSS.
