Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We present a token based multi-channel TDMA data collection protocol called TKN-TWN to achieve high throughput, scalability, and topology adaptability in wireless sensor network. TDMA mechanism is more suitable for efficient data collection due to eliminated tranmission collisions and carrier sense. However, the complex scheduling burden is the primary limiting factor of scalability and topology adaptability. To minimize the scheduling burden while exploiting the advantages of TDMA-based data collection, TKN-TWN uses two tokens and associates the ownership of tokens with transmission slot assignment. Due to the simple mechanism of the token passing, TKN-TWN reduces the complex scheduling burden and provides the scalability and topology adaptability. TKN-TWN further leverages the contention-free nature of TDMA by allowing burst transmission. When sensor nodes have the similar traffic pattern, TKN-TWN sustains high throughput through burst transmission. We evaluate the throughput of data collection on the indoor deloyed testbed with Tmote Sky and show that TKN-TWN achieves throughput over 10 KByte/s when routing topology is balanced under indoor propagation environment.
