Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lithium air batteries are actively researched as one of next-generation secondary batteries due to their theoretical high energy densities. Whereas the air batteries showed larger discharge capacities than lithium secondary batteries, they exhibited poor cycle performance and large difference in voltages of discharge and charge. We attempted to settle the issues by optimizing the air electrode materials of carbons and electrocatalysts. As a result, the battery performance was improved by loading the Mn-based and Ru-based oxide electrocatalysts into the air electrodes.
