Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) One of the power-saving scheme of network equipments is to control link transmission rate at output ports dynamically depending on the amount of traffic on them. This scheme is effective for UDP traffic whereas it may degrade transmission performance of TCP traffic, so that we have proposed the aggregation scheme of link idle time by delaying transmission of TCP segment only after the connection is established in order to enhance time for effectively saving power consumption without degradation of throughput. In this paper, assuming that some segments are transmitted on one TCP connection, namely, relatively large file transmission, we extend the scheme by delaying every transmission of the successive segments, which are corresponding to TCP window size, in accordance with the state of the tagged link/router, and investigate the impact of the delaying time and the threshold in terms of their condition on both power-saving and TCP transmission performances.
