A Study on FDTD Modeling of "Trapped Rainbow" Storage of Light in THz Domain

Abstract(in English) The concept of "trapped rainbow" storage of light recently proposed by Tsakmakidis et.al. has attracted increasing attenuation for physically realizing slow light. In this work we study a method for spatially confining THz waves of different frequencies at different positions by exciting the spoof surface plasmon-polariton (SPP) on metal grating structures. With FDTD simulations we confirm the rainbow trapping of THz waves on linearly graded grating structures excited by a tapered slit.
