Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, Few-Mode Optical Fiber, which is expected as new transmission media for next generation system, has been studied actively about fiber design, transmission experiment with MIMO, etc On the other hand, elemental technologies of FMF which are practically essential, for example splice characteristics, has been reported barely In this paper, we evaluate offset-launch characteristics between SMF and Two-Mode Optical Fiber Calculated results by using FE-BPM are in good agreement with measured results and it is found that mismatch of MFD may generate mode conversion of more than -20 dB
