| 抄録(和) | 日本語の手書き文字のストロークがどのような傾きを以って書かれる傾向があるかを数量的に調べた.特に,活字文字では水平で書かれるべきストロークが手書き文字が,9°ほど右上がりに書かれる傾向があることが分かった.方向ごとのヒストグラムから,4つの正規分布を抽出した.それらの頂点を,(0°,45°,90°,135°)に代わる新しい基準の方向として採用し,従来の経験的な成分分解規則を適用して新しい特徴ベクトルを作り,認識精度を向上させることができた. |
| 抄録(英) | We quantitatively investigated with what inclinations the strokes of Japanese characters tend to be actually handwritten. We found especially that the horizontal strokes in machine-printed characters tend to be handwritten with an inclination of about 9°right up. We extracted four normal distributions out of the histogram of orientations. We adopted the peak positions as new base orientations in place of (0°, 45°, 90°, 135°), and applied the empirical rule of the decompositions of feature to new base orientations, and then we could enhance the recognition accuracy of the system. |
