Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper proposed a new aerial handwriting recognition method using 3-dimensinal acceleration sensors, by which we can write characters on any 2-dimensinal surface in the air with pen folding style-free. Compared with our conventional method, two new techniques are employed; one is the KL expansion for estimating writing surface and the other is a histogram of acceleration for rotating characters. In experiments using 71 Hiragana characters, we improved correct recognition rate from 25% to 70%. |
