Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The goal of this study is to develop an automated system for measuring the amount of fishery resources from images taken with an underwater camera for fishery investigation of Laminaria beds in Nemuro. This study proposes image segmentation method for dividing underwater image into two regions, which are brown kelp area and other area. This image segmentation uses pre-processing for underwater image. This pre-processing improve the degradation of underwater image. The recall and precision of our method is better than simple thresolding.
