Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In AR environments, synthetic images are created by superimposing virtual objects onto camera images of the real world, so that the poses of the virtual objects reflect the motion of the real objects that interact with them in the synthetic images. Whereas previous work mainly focuses on rigid bodies for those real objects, we consider a human hand manipulating a virtual object. For this purpose, we need to measure the posture of the human hand by a data glove. However, it causes some problems that the glove appears in the synthetic images and some positional gap could occur between the articulated human hand and the virtual object to be manipulated due to the measuring error, which cannot be adjusted only by the rigid motion of the virtual object. In order to cope with these problems, we discuss our approach of replacing the human hand by a realistic CG hand model in order to remove the data glove in the synthetic images and adjust its posture so that its gap with the virtual object is properly closed.
