Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, a high quality image format such as high dynamic range (HDR)images to represent from very dark until very bright scene is studied. However, objective quality metric estimation has not been established. And it is not suitable to use PSNR for the image quality evaluation of HDR images. To solve this, we have discussed local peak SNR (LPSNR)using neighboring pixels value for HDR images. However, there was no proof that LPSNR has been suitable to human visual characteristics. Therefore, we have to confirm validity of LPSNR by subjective evaluation. We use tone conversion that depend on image brightness to perform subjective quality assessment. As results of experiment, it is recognized LPSNR is most similar to MOS.
