Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With increasing elderly people living alone, it is necessary for family of elderly people to know their daily life to confirm the health. The accuracy and operations of monitoring systems for elderly people are insufficient so far. This paper presents a development of system for monitoring elderly people's daily life. The system detects elderly people's fall-down and several motions in the daily life such as sitting on a chair, sitting on a floor, and lying on a floor. We measured the detection rate of fall-down and daily life motions by experiments. From the experiments, fall-down was detected about 88% at a distance of 2m from a sensor, 81% at 3m, and 64% at 4m.
