Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Digital image archives have become an important method for preserving the appearance of cultural heritage. Appearance of printed media will be changed by the illumination condition because of the glossiness. The purpose of the research is to recover the appearance of printed media, which has both diffusion and specular reflectance components, from a set of images captured by changing the light position. In this study, we design a simple LED array without using any mechanical device. In addition, we propose a measurement system to estimate the normal surface and the surface model of printed media. Using this model, we recover the appearance under the various illumination conditions.
