Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Alkyl self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs), which are covalently bonded to Si through Si-C bonds, have been formed by photochemical processes based on the band excitation of Si. Surface potentials and ionization potentials ofthese SAM-Si samples were measured by Kelvin-probe force microscopy and photoelectron yield spectroscopy, respectively. Interfacial electronic structures of the SAM-Si dependent on the alkyl-chain length was studied.
