Toward Low Loss Electrooptic Polymers

Abstract(in English) Absorption and Rayleigh scattering loss of electrooptic (EO)polymers, poly (methyl methacrylate)and fluorinated methacrylate polymer containing Disperse Red derivative and Ph-TCBD acceptor containing azobenzene derivative possessing higher optical nonlinearity, were evaluated. The absorption loss was not differed each other between EO dyes contained and uncontained polymers at telecommunication wavelength, though, the scattering loss increased remarkably with increased EO dyes content. Moreover, structure of chromophore affects the scattering loss of electrooptic polymers.
