Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose an image interpolation method based on the non-local means and the self similarity. Interpolation methods, including single image super-resolution, have been proposed, conventionally. A1- though they can restore degraded high frequency components, they require high computational complexities. R:)「 an element of several applications, image interpolations should be fast implemented, and then the proposed method is simply designed. Because, it is realized by the block matching technique with a small search area. Moreover, since the proposed method utilizes the image self similarity and the sparse representation, interpolated images are visually efficient. In the simulation, results show that the proposed method obviously outperforms the bicubic in the objective and perceptual quality of enlarged images.
