Development of a Robust Choice Model for Demand Forecasting under Fluctuant Situations

Abstract(in English) In this research, the robust demand forecasting method in retailers under the situations which new products are introduced frequently is proposed. The proposed demand forecasting method was developed by a product choice forecasting method. By applying decision trees developed by random forest method into logit models, a product choice forecasting method which accepts multiple choice criteria of human was developed. POS (point of sale)data in a restaurant was analyzed for verification of the demand forecasting accuracy. At the result, absolute errors of demand forecasting by the proposed method were significantly less than those of previous method. It is confirmed that the proposed method works efficiency.
