Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Email is one of the most popular and easy-to-use communication tools on the Internet. It is essential for our life these days. Email is a way to exchange information also in emergency situation in addition to our business and daily life. Despite of that, once disasters or serious troubles occur, we can not send/receive email for a period of time. It will make great confusion. In order to reduce the unavailable time as much as possible, we propose a system designed for temporal use while the original server is in failure. The servers are assumed to be installed in remote sites. Each received message is converted into a netnews article and posted to dedicated newsgroup corresponding to the recipient of the message. Then it is delivered to other servers with NNTP (NetNews Transfer Protocol). End users are able to read their messages accessing to any available server. That makes users accessible to incoming messages even if their usual servers are not available by failure.
