Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Measuring microscopic variation of physical quantity such as power consumption or electromagnetic emanation of cryptographic hardware may be utilized to the so-called side channel attacks for estimating inside information. We have already pointed out that we can guess the Hamming weight of internal processing data of cryptographic hardware and we can guess secret key of AES correctly by measuring brightness of the LED pilot lamps. In this paper. we reported that if we use faster light-receiving device. the number of waveforms for these analysis required for these experiments are reduced. From these result, the pilot lamp side channel attack can be more realistic threat.
