Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Slepian-Wolf (SW)coding system is the most fundamental source coding system in multi-terminal information theory. In this paper, we consider the situation in which the coding system is asynchronous, and does not know the probability distribution of the source. We assume that delays of encoding are unknown to encoders and the decoder, but maximum values of delays are known to encoders and the decoder. In this situation, we show the achievable rate region for asynchronous sw coding systems. Then, we show the existence of a universal code, where the universal code is a code of which the error probability vanishes as the block length tends to infinity for all sources whose achievable rate region contains the rate pair of encoders. |
