Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mobile routers (MRs) are widely used to connect wireless LAN stations (STAs) with the Internet, but STAs cannot maintain the connection if a power line is down by a disaster because they are powered by a battery. One of methods to overcome this problem is that users share and manually change an MR whenever the connecting MR runs out of battery life because many people gather at an evacuation center in such a situation. In addition, the method of automatic change has been proposed. In these methods, STAs have to reconnect to the wireless LAN (WLAN) access point (AP) of the changed MR, whenever the connecting MR is changed; as a result the connection processing time and power consumption are increased. This paper proposes a cooperative operation mechanism among MRs without the reconnection of STAs even if the MR is changed. Simulation results show that the connection processing time and consumed power are reduced compared with the method with requiring the reconnection.
