Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed the Radio-On-Demand Networks (ROD)which provides the power saving schemes based on the utilization of the wireless LANs. In the ROD wireless LANs, Access Points (APs)can go into sleep mode with low utilization to reduce power consumption. However, if many APs go into sleep mode, traffic is concentrated on the specific APs, and this causes performance degradation. Therefore, we propose load balancing scheme for ROD. In this scheme, an AP can wake up the neighbor APs in order to avoid the traffic concentration. Prom simulation studies, we show that the proposed scheme can provide sufficient load balancing between APs while preventing the unnecessary power saving degradation.
