Abstract(in English) Recently, portable information terminals, such as smartphones and tablet devices, are becoming widely used. These information terminals have wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) functions, and can connect to wireless LAN in addition to carriers' mobile phone line. Although wireless LAN is a widely-used technology, collision of frames may occur frequently and the throughput may be degraded when many terminals are connected to the same wireless LAN. In this paper, we propose a packet collision avoidance method to realize a reliable information delivery in Wi-Fi environment where many nodes are connected. Our approach is an autonomous decentralized control method in which each terminal manages and adjusts one's own timing of transmitting data independently. By using this method, we can control the number of terminals which transmit data simultaneously. As a result, it can be expected that the occurrence of packet collision is reduced. Prom the evaluation results, we found that our approach is effective for shortening file transfer time. However, we also found that there are some issues left in order to achieve more effective control.
