Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents effectiveness of dedicated access points in smartphone positioning systems using wireless LAN in indoor/outdoor environments. Positioning experiments are carried out using two kinds of access points (general/ dedicated)in various situations such as a gymnastic hall, a ground, and a courtyard. After basic positioning performance evaluations in each typical situation mentioned above, efifects of access points on positioning performance are examined with varying the number of additional dedicated access points. Results show that deployment of dedicated access points is effective on positioning performance.
