Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of subscribers using the public wireless LAN service. However, the increase of those who actually use this service is less than that of the subscribers. One of the reasons for this is that, most of users do not have much time to use public wireless LAN at the public space like stations. From this perspective, the current bandwidth allocation algorithm of wireless LAN is not suitable for users of the short connection time since they cannot receive enough amount of data during connection. In this paper, we propose a novel bandwidth allocation algorithm considering the connection time that is estimated by train time table. Through the simulation results, we show the effectiveness of the proposed method for reducing the variation in the amount of communication caused by variety of user connection time.
