Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ad hoc networks, radio interference and nodes' mobility may cause frame loss. When the frame losses occur continuously, the sender node assumes the link failure, and then routing protocols on the network layer renew the route between the source and the destination. The route reconstruction, though, increases network load and transmission delay. For solving problem, some retransmission and relay control methods have been proposed. In these methods, neighbour nodes overhear the transmitted frames and autonomously recover the lost frames. The conventional retransmission methods may increase the transmission delay under the bursty frame losses. In contrast, the conventional relay method has the processing overhead and slow adaptation problem under the sparse frame losses. This paper proposes an efficient and lightweight method in which neighbour nodes adaptively retransmit the lost frames considering the frequency of frame losses. The performance and the effectiveness of the proposed method are clarified by computer simulation.
