Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigate scheduling algorithm to support coordinated multi-point (CoMP) operation under dense small cell deployment with heterogeneous network configuration. Dense small cell deployment, which improves spectrum efficiency via reduced distance dependent pathloss, sometimes requires reduction of inter-cell interference. For such interference reduction purposes CoMP obtains much focus, which changes interference component to desired signal and then improves system performance. So far scheduling algorithm is designed mainly for single point operation even with multi-tier cell layout, therefore we consider its extension to CoMP, namely 1. resource handling depending on node type either macro cell or small cell, and 2. further analysis on Proportional Fairness (PF) metric calculation with maintaining PF criteria. To these ends, we propose to apply a) a rule on which scheduler prohibits for macro cell to join CoMP transmission as dominant interferer for other small cells, and b) introduction of weighting factor in accordance with the number of point to be used for transmission. To evaluate the benefits of this algorithm, multi-cell system level simulations with FTP traffic model are conducted. This confirms improved algorithm achieves much better performance than conventional algorithm.
