Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we investigate the optimum design for enhance physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) using distributed mapping. In distributed mapping, downlink control information (DCI) message is distributed over a set of multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) in order to obtain a frequency diversity gain. However, resource utilization becomes partial and inefficient when there are only a few DCI messages. To improve the resource utilization efficiency, in this paper, we propose limiting the number of PRBs per EPDCCH set and configuring multiple EPDCCH sets to a UE. In the proposed scheme employing multiple EPDCCH sets, one EPDCCH set is used for conveying the DCI messages while the other sets can be used for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission if there is a light load of DCI messages. Otherwise, all the EPDCCH sets are consumed with sending the DCI messages. The simulation result demonstrates that proposed scheme improves the resource utilization efficiency compared to a single EPDCCH set.
