Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Foreign Language Activities in elementally school and English language education in junior high school, we verified the effects of Blended Instruction utilizing the English Text-to-Speech Software on the students' mental aspect and speaking skill. Blended Instruction in this study means the combination of the individual learning part in which students practice acting the model dialogues made by the English Text-to-Speech Software and a teacher's scaffoldings part. The result of the research shows that the students' self-confidence toward listening English was improved both in elementally and in junior high school. The 5 categories out of 6 assessment criteria of word utterance; 'Pronunciation', 'Stress', 'Intonation', 'Attitude', and 'Total Impression', were improved significantly in elementally school. In junior high school, the 14 categories out of 25 assessment criteria of oral reading performance were improved significantly.
