Useful Activities for Improving Abilities and Attitude in Blended Classes on History of Computer

Abstract(in English) In the class of learning the "History of Computers", slides were distributed to students as written materials, and lectures were given according to the slides. At the end of the course, a mini-examination was conducted and students were requested to describe the course of history. As an assignment, students investigated a historical character in computer history and made a presentation in the form of a report. E-learning that allows lecture-slide learning was made available so that students were able to perform preparation and review in addition to the lesson. Students were requested to present their assignment in a PowerPoint file that was then mutually evaluated. Additionally, students who scored highly in the evaluation were requested to deliver a presentation for characters they investigated. At that time, the other students were requested to describe points to be improved in the report by a student who made the presentation. In this manner, blended learning was performed by introducing numerous interactions among students. At the beginning and end of this lesson, the consciousness during the lesson was checked. At end of this lesson, useful activities for improving were provided. Change of students' attitude is analyzed using t-test about these data. Useful activities were investigated using cluster analysis and x2 test. This paper reports these findings.
