Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a prototype of a tightly-coupled FPGA cluster for LBM computation, which is one of the computing methods for computational fiuid dynamics. The FPGA cluster has an accelerator domain network (ADN) to directly connect FPGAs with a high-speed and low-latency corlnection, for higher scalability in strong scaling. We propose a parallel and custom-computing architecture for LBM, PCCAL, to be efficiently implemented on the FPGA cluster with ADN. We describe a structure of a processing element for stream computation of LBM, and its 2D array to exploit the spatial and temporal parallelisms of LBM.
