Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Screen transfer system enables desktop sharing between two computers through network. The important performance qualities in screen transfer system are the responsiveness for user's operation and the smoothness of successive screen updates. In this paper we propose the Network-Adaptive Streaming Library(NASL) for screen transfer system.NASL ensures the both characteristics in adapting to various network environments differed from each deployed area. NASL has a feature that optimizes the response-time by the adaptive tuning of the two parameters the TCP parallelism and the send buffer size. NASL also requires no modification to the kernel and the target application. The NASL's design and the evaluation results on various network environments are shown.
