Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we proposed an improved method of localization accuracy based on human aural characteristic in which the relation between physical sound volume and sensuous sound volume is nonlinear. In order to cancel the aural characteristic, we have corrected power spectrums of HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) and normalized them per frequency based on the ratio of the total of frequency components in all directions. We conducted experiment in which subjects answered the direction of sound sources which were created stereophonic sounds by binaural simulation from three HRTFs. Localization errors of stereophonic sounds created by binaural simulation from corrected HRTFs were decreased by an average of 4.25 degrees and the maximum of 10.72 degrees as compared to them of the original HRTFs.
