Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to build a classifier which can accurately detect the presence of a concept in videos, a large number of training examples are required where each example is manually annotated with the presence or absence of the concept. However, it is laborious to collect many training examples for each of various concepts. To overcome this, an online video annotation game developed by focusing on numerous users on the Web. If this game is played worldwide by many users, a large number of training examples can be efficiently collected. Even though many users are available for annotation, it is important to maximize the efficiency of training example collection. Thus, active learning is used to preferentially annotate examples which are promising for improving the detection performance of a concept. Also, tag recommendation is used to avoid annotation for meaningless concepts. Experimental results indicate the effectiveness of our video annotation game using active learning and tag recommendation.
