Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When we calculate the voltage and current of switching arc, the dependence of arc voltage upon electrode gap and arc current, namely arc V-I characteristics, must be known in advance. For V-I characteristics of palladium arc, C. E. Guye and L. Zebrikoff reported their measurements in the range from 0 to 2 mm and from 3 to 15 A [1]. However, when calculating switching arc in inductive circuit, arc V-I characteristics must be known also in the gap range longer than 2 mm and the current range lower than 3 A. We have measured V-I characteristics of palladium arc in the gap range from 0.1 to 10 mm and the current range lower than 5 A. Our measurements and those of Guye and Zebrikoff agree well in the range where these two measurements overlap, i.e. from 0.1 to 2 mm and from 3 to 5 A.
