Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a color-to-gray conversion which only considers lightness components, differences of colors are not appropriately reflected to monochrome images. Gooch et al. have proposed a color removal method which considers the differences of colors. In this report, a new color removal method which introduces a weight to the Gooch's algorithm is proposed. In the proposed method, about the combination of the colors in an input image, weight is determined based on the distance in the color space. In the proposed method, unimportant color combinations are not considered by weight and color information in an input image appropriately reflects to a monochrome image.
