Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This talk introduces the results in the paper presented in Eurocrypt 2012 under the same title.A Structure-Preserving Commitment (SPC) scheme is a commitment scheme whose messages, keys, commitments, and decommitments are elements of bilinear groups, and whose openings are verified by evaluating paring product equations. Typical commitment schemes yield short commitments whose size is independent of the size of the input message. The paper shows that SPC can never provide such a preferable property. Thus any SPC must expand the input message into a commitment. The paper then proposes some efficient SPC schemes that are optimal in the sense that their expansion ratio is asymptotically close to 1.
